The University of Washington Department of Biostatistics is a center of excellence for development and application of statistical methodology across the health sciences, and has collaborative partnerships with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital Research Institute, Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute, the Veterans Administration and others.

We collaborate with scientists around the world to advance knowledge and innovation in public health, biology, and medicine.

Faculty Interests

Faculty members of the department conduct methodological research in a broad range of areas including biomarkers, causal inference, clinical trials, environmental and spatial statistics, survival analysis and more.

Free statistical consulting is offered by faculty and graduate students in UW Biostatistics or Statistics departments, available for free to UW faculty, staff and students.
