Hoshimi Tominari, who is the new Admission and Curriculum Coordinator assuming the role previously held by Akiyo Kodera, joined the department in July. She will provide direct support to the Educational Policy and Teaching Evaluation Committee (EPTEC), assist the chair administratively, coordinate quarterly course instructional support, and student advising.

Hoshimi is originally from Tokyo and first came to the U.S. in 2009. She earned her BA and MA in Communication Studies in California, moved to Seattle in 2017, and most recently taught communications and performed instructional design at Shoreline Community College. She enjoys public speaking, learning new things, and is energized around other people who also love to learn. She is excited about her new role in Biostatistics which she sees as being a bridge across the program, keeping faculty, student, staff, and prospective students connected.

Minh Vo joined the graduate program support staff in a new role serving students in the MS Capstone program in September. Her role as Graduate Program Advisor includes providing support, leadership, and professional development to all students and advising for Capstone students.

Minh recently worked with the UW School of Pharmacy as the Associate Director for Experiential Education for their PharmD program. In this role, she managed the implementation of clinical/practice experiences in their new curriculum, overseeing the placement of 210 students in hospital settings.  She also spent 4 years with the UW Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) Program as their Professional Development Specialist, providing advising and career counseling. She also created a Professional Development Program for students that engaged with local and national healthcare executives, MHA alumni and recruiters.
