Three UW Biostatistics faculty members are among the world’s most highly cited researchers for 2019, according to the Web of Science Group. Included on the list are:
- Daniela Witten, Dorothy Gilford Endowed Chair of Mathematical Statistics, Professor of Biostatistics and Statistics
- Ross Prentice, Professor of Biostatistics
- Peter Gilbert, Research Professor of Biostatistics
Witten and Gilbert earned honors in the Cross-Field category that identifies researchers with substantial influence across several fields. Prentice's impact was recognized in the Social Science category.
According to the Web of Science Group, individuals on the Highly Cited Researchers list have demonstrated significant and broad influence reflected in their publication of multiple papers, highly cited by their peers over the course of the last decade. These researchers extend the frontiers of knowledge and make the world healthier, richer, more sustainable, and more secure.
