Two UW Biostatistics faculty members have been elected Fellows of the American Statistical Association (ASA): Affiliate Professor of Biostatistics Charles Kooperberg and Research Professor and UW graduate, Michael LeBlanc (PhD, ’89). Kooperberg also heads the Biostatistics Program at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center where LeBlanc works as well.
Four additional UW Biostatistics alums were selected as ASA Fellows: Jinbo Chen (MS ‘99; PhD ’02), Sebastien Haneuse (MS ‘01; PhD ’04), Rebecca Hubbard (MS, ’01, PhD ’04), and Jonathan Schildcrout (PhD, ’04).
Fellows are named for their professional contributions, leadership, and commitment to the field of statistical science. Fellows will be officially recognized at an awards ceremony in July at the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) in Denver.
Congratulations to all on this prestigious recognition.
