Biostatistics graduate student Anqi Cheng has received first place in the American Statistical Association (ASA) Student Paper Competitions in the Biometrics section. The honor includes an award of travel funds allowing Cheng to present her winning paper, "Monotone Distribution Function Estimation in Randomized Trials with Noncompliance" in Baltimore at the 2017 Joint Statistical Meeting.
Cheng's research focuses on casual inference and censoring data. The paper proposes a novel monotone estimator of distribution functions for compliers in a randomized trial where some subjects fail to follow their assigned treatments.
